The ISE's President and Founder is Kathleen Van Kirk DHS, MA. Kathleen has a Doctorate from the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality where she is an Assistant Professor. She has also taught at various Community Colleges. Her professional affiliations include: the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists, the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex, the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the American Board of Sexologists.

Kathleen received a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and completed a postgraduate degree in Marriage, Family and Addictions Recovery Therapy in 1997. She holds additional certifications in Sex Education and Erotology and has a private practice and seminar business in Hawaii.

She has served as Vice President of Libida.com since 2000 and joined SexualHealth.com as Vice President of Content in 2004. She is also a syndicated contributor to IFriends.com.  She is a certified Anahata Yoga Instructor(c) and has been studying the art and science of Tantric practice and Feng Shui for the last ten years. She runs her retreat and farm business on four acres of land in Kauai and travels to the mainland regularly for consultations, seminars, and media requests.
 

The ISE also coordinates retreat and seminar services for other relationship professionals.  Many of the top contributors to the fields of Sexology, Marriage and Family Therapy, yoga and metaphysical artists work with the ISE in providing it's services.
